Lyson Center

Thomas A. Lyson Center for Civic Agriculture and Food Systems

The Lyson Center produces the Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development (JAFSCD), also known as the "Food Systems Journal," which is the world's only peer-reviewed, applied research journal on food systems-based community development.

The mission of the Lyson Center is to promote best practices in food and agriculture-based community development, encourage public policy discourse on food system issues, and nurture the nascent field of sustainable food systems in additional ways. JAFSCD focuses on value chains, food security, urban agriculture, conservation, and related topics. Papers bridge the interests of scholars, practitioners, and policy-makers.

As a project of CTA and the greater Cornell community we engage faculty, staff, and students as peer reviewers, advisors, and in projects related to our publishing and professional development activities.
