Our Affiliation with Cornell University

The Center for Transformative Action, an education-based independent non-profit organization, enjoys an affiliation with Cornell University. This affiliation allows us to collaborate with Cornell faculty, staff and students, contributing to the university’s educational mission. Our offices are on Cornell’s campus, in Anabel Taylor Hall.

We see that the global need for a new generation of change makers has never been greater and that students are eager to help solve today's critical social problems. Our work with Cornell University focuses in the following areas:

We offer an undergraduate course at Cornell in the department of Applied Economics and Management entitled Social Entrepreneurs, Innovators, and Problem Solvers
We provide ready non-profit status, business services, and mentorship to students with transformative social change projects.
We serve as an advisor to Cornell student organizations focused on social entrepreneurship and social change.
We offer a mentorship program matching Cornell students interested in making a positive change in the world with alumni who have experience in social change and social entrepreneurship.
CTA and our Project Partners collaborate with Cornell students and faculty on variety of educational and research programs.
We are a member of Cornell United Religious Work

As a land grant university and one that has had an international scope since its founding, Cornell University has long been an engaged university. It offers students a wide array of opportunities to integrate what they learn in the classroom with real world experience, and conversely for real world practitioners to inform teaching and research. CTA is one such venue for students interested in social change and social entrepreneurship. Others include:

Engaged Learning + Research: a new university-wide center designed to advance academic service-learning, community-based research, and public scholarship across a wide spectrum of academic disciplines and programs. It seeks to prepare future generations to be creative, collaborative, and critically reflective leaders in their professional lives and in their own communities.

Entrepreneurship@Cornell: works with all campus schools, colleges, and organizations to help create and promote entrepreneurship education, events, commercialization, and experiential learning opportunities.

Cornell University's Public Service Center is a service organization connecting Cornell students, faculty, and alumni with community organizations.
